Birthing gown?

Hey ladies, so I will be having baby girl anytime in the next 3 weeks(induction is scheduled in 3 weeks if she doesn’t come on her own before that) and I am just doing some last minute hospital bag packing. What are your thoughts on birthing gowns? Worth it or not? I bought one that is accessible for epidural and for BF, but I am just torn on whether it is worth it or not!

To each their own. I personally say no because I feel like it’d just be bloody and sweat covered so I’d rather spend the money on something comfy for after birth. But it’s up to you, some people like it!

It’s going to get nasty from giving birth, I wouldn’t want to wash it when getting home… I used the hospital gown for my first and will for my second as well. It’s not the most comfortable fabric, but you won’t be worried about that while pushing out your baby.

I don’t think it’s worth it. The hospital will give you a gown (or more as needed). They’re perfectly fine for what you need them for. You’re bound to get blood or something on it, so you’ll have to change anyway!

I bought one too. The material is soft and much more flexible than the hospital gowns. I also got a robe in case I have to walk around the halls to get labor going.

Worth it! I used my own for my first - it did NOT get all nasty like people say. I’m also short and petite and knew the hospital gown would not be comfortable for me to wear in any way.
This time I’m planning to just labor in a bralette and oversized tee (but tee will probably come off lol)

I bought one on Amazon. I want to be as comfortable as possible and I like my clothes to be soft and have some give, the hospital gowns seems stiff and scratchy.

I labored, gave birth in and continued ro live in my robe throughout my hospital stay. I loved it. Just got a simple and cute cotton & rayon fabric one.

I wore the hospital gown during labor just because there’s so much bodily fluid all over I didn’t want to wear something nice haha.  I did change as soon as I got to postpartum though into a button up nightgown dress that was wonderful for nursing. It was a short one so it still made frequent bathroom trips no problem and I could lift it out from under my butt easily in case I had any bleeding around the pad onto the bed pad.☺️

When I had my daughter in 2020 I got two cute polka dot ones on Amazon. I was really glad I did because the gowns my hospital provided were HUGE even for a 9 month pregnant lady, but I was petite with a huge belly so maybe I’m not the best judge lol. But the hospital gown was so huge that the slits they had in the front of it that were meant for easy access when breastfeeding literally opened up down at my belly instead of my boobs 😂 I did wear the hospital gown for labor and delivery though because it is obviously pretty messy and there was no use wasting my good ones when I could just dirty the hospital ones lol. The ones I got fit me way better and had snaps at the shoulders for easy breastfeeding access
