Anyone having issues with their toddler not adjusting to daycare? He's been going since he was 5 months and everything was fine in the beginning but close to 10 months, he just changed and now he cries and has these tantrums from the time he's dropped off to the time he's picked up. I thought maybe having reoccurring ear infections was the problem so he had surgery to get tubes placed, but that's not it.

I took him to his pediatrician and she seems to think he has a severe case of separation anxiety. It's gotten to the point where he's being dropped from daycare (it's home based if that makes a difference). Has any other moms experienced this? What worked for you? I'm not sure if I need to consider hiring a nanny at this point cause I work from home full time.
