Sharp pains in both boobs simultaneously ??

My LO is 3w5d and I’ve been breastfeeding this entire time. I get sharp quick pains in both breasts at the same time when it seems like it’s time to feed or pump. I just pumped at 8pm and again at 9pm. 10z altogether. Is this normal?

The sharp pains would be the let down. And you should not be pumping at all on top of breastfeeding. What you have is an over supply and pumping will only make it much much worse. As for the let down, it may subside after a while.

10oz in two hours is a serious oversupply, especially this early on. You should stop pumping altogether for now until your supply regulates around 6 weeks. I am a fellow oversupplier and feel you on the pain, it's the worst! The only way to make it better is to get your supply to regulate down closer to just what baby needs. The block feeding method worked well for me with both babies, KellyMom.com has a great article explaining it. To deal with the engorgement as you regulate down, just express to comfort if you have to, ice packs help too.
