Weight gain?

I’m 14 weeks, Jan 11th I was 174 today I’m 183. 9lbs, doctor flipped out. Anyone else gain a bit? Ugh. I was on a super low 1200 calorie diet and lost 60lbs for 2 years until this pregnancy and I think the food switch up my be the cause.

Your blood volume increases and you’ll start to bloat from water weight earlier. This isn’t true fat gain and my nurses were always dicks about my weight even though I gained 20 pounds total in my pregnancy. Focus on health and staying active and your body will do the rest to make sure baby grows well. When it comes to weight tbh doctors can suck it

I’ve gained about the same as you and I’m 13 weeks.. my doctor never really said anything lol.. I find as women we are so sensitive about weight on our own.. I don’t need anyone else making me feel bad.. I feel like I was eating a lot of carbs in the first tri so I’m going to try and eat more greens going forward. Yep this pregnancy I gained a BUNCH of weight compared to my other pregnancies. The doctor is a bit concerned but at the same time I’m a power lifter and I’m continuing it through the pregnancy so it’s hard to determine what’s gained with muscle vs fat. I’m very active and eat a low carb diet (I have type 1 diabetes). I’m trying to maintain a lower calorie diet and trying to add in more cardio workouts vs higher weight focus.

At least half of that will be water weight/increased blood volume. That’s really not abnormal. Some doctors get hyper reactive about weight and others don’t. My doctor said I should have gained a minimum of 5 lbs by week 12, so 9 by 14 doesn’t sound abnormal to me 🤷‍♀️. Keep feeding your baby with lots of good food. Take walks for some exercise. And just worry about being overall healthy not the number on the scale.

I instantly put on 10lbs this pregnancy 😳 but have plateaued since that initial gain. I think it just is what it is

I think that’s normal and every pregnancy will be different. I’ve had pregnancies where I’ve gained a lot in the beginning and some where I lost a lot at first. Pregnancy is wild. I wouldn’t focus on weight, just eating nourishing foods so that baby doesn’t have to take from your stores.

In my precious pregnancies I gained 40 lbs each time and my doctors/midwives never said anything about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh girl don’t worry. With my first I only gained 7lbs the ENTIRE time. This time around I’ve already gained 15lbs by week 15 lol. Don’t worry.

Ugh, don't worry about it. Your going to gain more in the beginning because your not on a low calorie diet anymore. I gained 45lbs the first time (I'm over weight already) lost half that after. Gained 3lbs the second baby, lost the rest of the weight from the first time postpartum then put it right back on. This time I've lost 15lbs from being sick. My doctor has only been worry that I lost weight never about the gain. 
It is normal to gain 30-45lbs while pregnant so don't worry. Kindly ask your doctor why they are concerned and let them know your eating a regular diet now not low cal and they should take that into consideration when assessing you.
