I have lol unfortunately. My bf and i were recently catfished and ny9 feels were so hurt. It took me a bit to even want to look again. Drop your story

I haven’t personally been catfished but my male friend has and this was the first time I’d heard of people catfishing before the actual program catfish came out! 
So he started talking to a girl on a dating app called Rachel he was 22 at the time she also was 22, he said it was the first person he actually had a connection with on the app and he when he swiped for her he never thought she’d actually match with him as in his words he was punching well above his weight as she was beautiful slim blonde English girl like a super model and him being slightly over weight and nothing special, they arrange to meet after a week or too of chatting and he couldn’t believe his luck! 
A local coffee shop they decided on and the day came… he was waiting and showed up early just sitting in a chair at the table watching the door for this beautiful super model to walk in and he waited and waited then a lady walked in the coffee shop looks up wasn’t the girl he’d been talking too so looks away and this lady sits down on the chair at his table and he says I’m sorry someone is sitting here she will be here soon and the lady says I’m Rachel to his utter shock the lady was late 40s not 22 a completely different ethnicity to what she claimed and didn’t look like a super model 🙈 he said he told her she was not the girl in the photo on the app, looked nothing remotely similar and was not 22, her response was that he wouldn’t had spoke to her if she had put the truth?
He said he got up and walked out and she continued to contact him afterwards and he had to block and report her to the app 😂 I was shocked to say the least! I didn’t until the program Cassidy came out know this actually happens in real life 🤦🏼‍♀️

I did get catfish, it was a man who contacted me on a gaming app I think it was words with friends two maybe, might’ve been through Facebook I can’t remember it was so long ago. And he talked like he was straight out of a Hallmark movie, out of any romantic comedy, and I fell for it hard, my best friend was the skeptical one he said send me his picture, he used an app to retrace where the picture came from, and it was a Nigerian scammer, he use the photo of a man who was white, gay, married, who had children, I ended up reaching out to the gentleman and letting him know that his identity has been stolen and to make his profile private. My best friend said this guy sounds too good to be true and he was right. Things that happen fast tend to end fast. So then he says well that wasn’t me, but I’m not good looking and that’s why I used somebody else’s photo, so then he tries again with somebody else’s photo, my best friend again trace the picture he was full of crap. Then he tries saying that it was the emotional response of him being a single father blah blah blah, that he didn’t think a woman would want him if he had children, more crap and bullshit, to this day he still tries to contact me with random profiles on Facebook, anyone who has two first names as their name, if I don’t know you or we don’t have friends in common, I do not except you, and I totally left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to meeting anywhere online or dating online etc. I had another previous bad dating experience online, so never again for either one.￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼
