Hi everyone. So I’m about 19 weeks pregnant (considered high risk due to an autoimmune disease) but so far everything has been going great with baby. I go to the maternal fetal specialist every other week where they do extensive measurements and ultrasounds on the baby. I had my anatomy scan yesterday and baby is healthy, my blood test came back negative for everything. I’ll go back to the maternal fetal specialist on 4/12. I also have a rheumatologist appointment scheduled for today where they will do blood work to make sure the lupus condition is stable. I have a regular OB appointment next Thursday and honestly at these OB appointments they don’t do an ultrasound (since maternal fetal does that) and the last time all she did was hear the baby’s heart beat on the Doppler (which I have at home), they charged me over $300 for that visit and I have two Cigna insurances so even with insurance I am out a ton of money each month for all of these appointments. I am thinking about skipping out on my regular OB appointment next week and maybe moving it a few weeks out since they don’t check my blood, or do anything other than use the Doppler, I also have to wait an hour to be seen by the doctor and then I receive these huge bills in the mail for the doctor to ask me how I’m feeling and then send me on my way. Would you skip the OB appointment this time if you were me? I’m tired of the appointments every week. 😩
