Painting in nursery

I'm in a rental. I don't want to paint the walls (though I know that I technically could so long as I paint it white before we move out).

I'm planning on getting one of those cribs with a solid panel. I'm hoping to find one with solid side panels like this:

It seems right now the cribs with a solid back are more popular, but I want the side so its easily viewable. (Well have baby in our room until they're 1 year old, so the end is what will be more viewable)

Id like to paint it with a lovely, yet simple, painting like this:

(I painted this quickly using my phone's notepad)

Does this sound like a nice idea?
