Cloth Diaper Mommas - Is it worth it?

Question

My babes use hello hello & 7th generation diapers. We’ve tried quite a few natural diapers but I am very interested in cloth diapering and have been hoping to hear the pros and cons from moms who cloth diaper. Do you have tips? Anything that makes or breaks it? I’d love to hear even why you chose to cloth diaper!

I cloth diaper and I’m very happy with the decision! Especially if you plan on having more children, it’s more economical. (We spent about €400 total and will be able to use them for our second baby too.) It’s much friendlier for the environment (and who doesn’t want to leave a better Earth for our children!) And it’s not as difficult as a lot of people think.
We use TotsBots Bamboozle Fitted diapers and Peenut Pads in Blueberry Capri covers. We have 10 of each absorbent part and 5 covers. The covers can be reused through the day and the absorbent parts get out in the wash bin when soiled. We also use cloth wipes. We used to wash daily but since my daughter has started toilet training (at 11 months) we only need to wash every 3 days. We’ve never had a poop blowout! If baby is breastfed, you don’t need to rinse the poops out (they’re water soluble) and once they start solids you can use a fleece liner to make it easier to shake poops into the toilet.
My husband was skeptical at first but he got on board quickly once he saw how easy it all was. (And the first time we traveled and had to use disposables, and she had a blowout on the airplane, that really convinced him 😂)

Absolutely yes. I have saved so much money using cloth, my son has never had a blow out it a rash.

I wanted to use cloth diapers, but my husband loves disposable so we were only able to maintain doing it for a short amount of time. 🙄
Disposable is definitely a lot easier when we're out of the house or traveling. If you do cloth diapering, definitely have a good supply of diapers on hand, a wet bag, and be willing to do multiple loads of laundry every week. I think the only thing I didn't like during our (short) time with cloth diapering, is my husband not removing the lining before putting them in the wet bag. 😮‍💨 Having to touch multiple soiled diapers to dig out moist and smelly linings made me feel unwell. Otherwise, I enjoyed it!
