How do you shop for Diapers ?? 👀👀🥴

Ok babies grow fast & I never got to the buying diaper stage with my babies so I’m wondering how do you shop for diapers (ex 2pk of size 3 , 2pk of size2 ) ❤️❤️ 
Please help a mama out !! Im 5months Friday and want to start getting diapers !!

This time around I’m buying one large box of newborn diapers from Costco and that’s it lol. My son was not in them long enough for the amount of newborn diapers I had. I will probably start with one box of newborn and one box of size one then just go from there after the baby is born lol

My newborn came home in 3m clothes and size 1 diapers. I had all newborn stuff out and opened and then never got to use it. I would maybe just get 1 pack or newborn and 2 packs of each for now. I personally stocked up on wipes lol I used them for everything! And if you have lots of room you can get some size 4/5 bc those are the sizes they are in for a while

I believe If you have an unopened box of diapers you can exchange them for a different size. Target is pretty great with exchanging. The hospital gives you a pack of newborn diapers. I would have a box at home and then just get size 1 and 2.

Stores will usually let you exchange the unopened boxes of the sizes you don’t need anymore. My first was constantly growing and we moved up sizes pretty fast. She got all the way to 5…however, any time I finished a box of the size she was in and didn’t have anymore I always tried the next size up that I did have and if she fit that then I moved her up…
My second is more petite and I’m trying to think the last size I got for her before going to pull-ups…maybe size 3?? And we’re at the same age from when I transitioned to pull ups…
With my first people really stock piled me with diapers. I was able to get a variety of brands—thankfully neither of my children had any adverse reactions to any of the—and I didn’t have to buy diapers until she plateaued in the size 5…so you may want to wait to purchase any until after a baby shower if you’re planning to have one…however, if you do want to plan ahead and get them, you can always get store credit back, or swap them for wipes…you’re a mom now, wipes will be a thing even after diapers 😂.

My 1st born was 7lb 13oz (average) she was in newborn diapers and clothes for about a month, size 1 diapers for about a month, then they are in size 2 and 3 each for awhile.

Just a warning from my experience. My son had a bad reaction to Pampers (rash) so you might need to see how your baby does before truly stocking up.

I only do one box of newborn because the likelihood you need more is slim. Then maybe 2-3 boxes of ones, and then I plan to stock up a lot on 2s and 3s. I felt like we went through more diapers once we got to eating real foods honestly.

So I had the opposite issue, my daughter was in newborn longer and we didn’t buy enough newborn diapers for her so I had to move to size 1. It was fine. But lesson learned. I bought a case and an additional smaller pack this time around. Our hospital did not provide newborn diapers. And they were way too big on her. We used them, but moved to newborn as soon as we got home. I did a similar stock piles this time then I did with my daughter.

I would recommend only buying one pack of NB diapers. I still have leftover diapers from my son 😭 luckily I’m pregnant again. This time I know to but size one and size two diapers
