Expected to go to formal events at nine months pregnant?!

Okay so my SIL is graduating, and I'm so happy for her.  But her graduation is tomorrow and I guess it slipped my mind or maybe no one told me the actual date until today.  Starting Sunday I have friends staying with us for three days.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have seriously two tops that cover both my belly and my boobs and one pair of jeans that I can stand wearing for more than a couple of hours (the rest I literally just fantasize about cutting them at the waist every moment I'm in them).  I'm supposed to go to the mall (the fucking mall at Christmas) and walk (ugh) around looking for something dressy to wear to this graduation (like such an outfit even fucking exists) and then go sit for hours while keeping a toddler quiet and not getting up to pee every five minutes. Then go to a graduation party, then go home and finish whatever needs to get done before guests arrive.  Then accommodate them (which will be fun and I agreed to do it) and did I mention husband hasn't put up the goddamn tree yet because he's working a million hours a day?!

What am I going to do?  Wear jeans and a maternity tee? Don't go? Skip the party? Agh!!!

I feel bad for my SIL if I don't go and if I don't go to the party.  But, the party will be less formal and no worries about sitting uncomfortably with a wiggly loud toddler.  Also, if I only go to the party I don't have to go shopping in the morning.

I just want a get out of jail free card.

Like I'll be in a coma and they can wheel me around like weekend at bernies.

35 weeks isn't that far along to where you can't go and be supportive, in my opinion.

Don't go! Your health and well being is more important than anything. If I don't feel up to going somewhere, I simply don't.

Okay so. I ended up going as husband was insistent that I go.  I wore leggings and a shirt dressed up with accessories.  Clothes were comfy but my only boots that fit are knee high and I didn't even realize how much my calves would swell.  Oh my god.  It was FIVE hours long!  And we saw her in the parking lot for thirty seconds and one picture afterwards.

There were fifteen of us there!  I don't think she would have missed my presence or held it against me if I hadn't gone.

Now we're supposed to go to the after party and I'm supposed to let husband nap while info to the store to get drinks for the party.

Fuck that shit.

I'm so sick of him jot understanding how damn difficult this pregnancy has been, especially lately.

I'm going to leave him alone about it as he seems really stressed about work, but when he's in a more receptive mood we're going to have a talk.

I have a friend who decided to have 2 weddings. A big one in July, which she has been planning a while. I agreed to be in it. Well now she wants one in January to make the pastor happy since he is marrying them and they already live together. She wants to get married mid to late January and wants me in it. I'm due January 23. I told her that wasn't going to work for me. I would either be miserable, in labor, or with a few day old baby. Sometimes you just have to say no. I'm going to my brothers wedding January 2 and visiting family for Christmas. I will do what I can for family and be there for them, but I refused to be in someone's wedding so close to my due date.

I am 40 weeks with no sign of a baby any day soon and I am expected to go to Christmas Mass for the late service. Its 11pm-12:30am. Yep at 40+5 days... I mentioned not being up to going the incents kill me and I like my sleep currently. But being overdue and uncomfortable sitting on wooden pews is expected. Grrr

Do yourself a favour and don't go! It's too much stress for nothing...As a pregnant woman, you have the best excuse not to go. And why should you go throught all these? I mean, she can enjoy her moment without you, but your baby needs you fit and non stressed for the few next weeks...So who is more important? You and the baby...
Anyway, just do whatever makes you confortable and whatever is not too much for you. Good luck, no matter the decision :)

Get a loose flowing dress. I wear regular dresses all pregnancy. I make sure I can also wear them when all weight is gone. Just get an empire waist with flowy bottom.
