Hi mamas,

So my mother-in-law does not work, she just stays at home with her husband (my FatherInLaw). My husband spend on his parent a lot, his father still works and mom receiving disability benefits. We just had a baby, she just turn one and will be expecting our second one next month by God’s grace.

So my mother in law offer to babysit her first grandbaby (our daughter) but she want us to pay her. I feel so uncomfortable and it’s so wired to me. My husband works from home, so he will be there as well to support if I am not around. I asked how much she is trying to charge, she asked how much me and my husband are making and she will charge based on that…I was so surprised and I told my husband I rather pay an outsider than to pay his mother to babysit her first grandbaby. These are people that we spend money on and even let them stay at our home for free for months and we put gas on their car, take them out sometimes.

Do you all think I am overreacting?
