I am looking for some advise with compassion.

I have just found out that I am pregnant, my partner and I have three children each from previous marriages.. the kids range from 8-18yrs

This was unplanned and although I am unsure what I want to do and we have looked at all options my partner is not wanting another child.

I understand where he is coming from (we both are 40 and have 6 children btw us.. Although we don’t have them full time.. it is a busy household.

We have sat down and discussed our concerns, pros and cons but he said to me something that I feel uneasy about… He said that if I decide to have the child that he wouldn’t support me (aka he would pay maintenance but not be around)

I understand from the males point of view that it’s scary as ultimately it’s the woman’s choice in the end but I feel if he truly loved me he would say ‘hey I don’t really want another child but I am here to support you in whatever u Decide and we will get through this’

Is that an unrealistic expectation to ask of someone?

Is that a red flag? Is he maybe just scared and said a that out of spite ?
