Blood loss after birth?

Question

After I had my 2 year old in October 2019, I remember them saying I bled a lot so they kept me on Pitocin and gave me a shot in my leg of some sort. I believe they kept me on Pitocin to help with that and all ended up being fine. Now that I’m pregnant again im being crazy paranoid it’ll happen again but worse! Like how do they save you from that? lol Anyone have any stories to help me feel better. Also I’m on baby #5 and my last baby, and I ALWYAS get the epidural. It seems to really relax me and babies usually come just a short few hours later

I hemorrhaged during labor with my first, had to have a blood transfusion, and bled heavily for at least three months after. I still stand by the thought that I’d take all of that over pregnancy for 9 months any day! All the bleeding definitely made me feel week at times but it still was the least scary part for me. My biggest concern this time is that my first got her shoulder stuck and they’re recommending a c-section this time because of it. That terrifies me!

I don’t have any story to help. But I just wanted to say I completely understand what you’re going through. My last pregnancy I bled during labor. The dr couldn’t tell what it was from. Then I bled alot afterwords. So they had to keep an eye on me. Everything turned out fine. They ended up sending a sample of my placenta to pathology to be tested. But I am still terrified of having a major complication with this delivery. I just try not to dwell on it. And I just make sure I ask my dr any questions I need to for reassurance.

I have a fear of that with this pregnancy as well. With my first I didn’t have that happen. But I’m currently on blood thinners and labor and delivery is freaking me out this time around . I try not to work myself up and have faith it will all go smoothly . I remind myself if it were to happen there is a team there that probably  deals with this more often then we think .

I honestly have been having the same fear, baby #3 for me this time and this exact same thing happened after #2 for me. I bled really bad after my first too but it was worse for my second and they had to do more and monitor closer😞 I’m trying not to worry too much about it but it definitely is on my mind as well for sure.
