40+2 - 3 nights of rough contractions - can I go to L&D to be induced?

No sleep, eating makes me feel nauseated, have been poo’ing so much, and these contractions are not mild. Nights have been the worst. Wanting to be induced tomorrow. I’m scheduled for Tuesday but I don’t think I can make it. Can I just go to L&D?

Possibly. I had prolonged early labor with this baby, 4 nights of excruciating hip and back contractions. Didn’t sleep for days, absolutely miserable. Went in two nights in a row just because of the severe pain. On the second night, fortunately I had dilated from 2 cm to 4 cm since a regular appointment earlier that afternoon and was fully effaced, so they admitted me for an epidural to control the pain. Later we broke my water and started pitocin, so essentially I had an unscheduled induction 2 days prior to my scheduled induction.
However, it was totally up to the doc on call to be willing to admit me. They could have just offered narcotics for temporary pain control and recommend I come back later (which was an option). So it’s not a guarantee, but I hope you get baby out soon!! ❤️
