We had an ultrasound done at my 12-week appointment to check for the risk of down syndrome. The doctor measured the baby's face and neck. The neck turned out fine but the doctor had a hard time getting a good picture of the face because the baby kept moving and covering the face with the arms and the hands. The high risk doctor later told us that she suspected an abnormality because she couldn't see the nose. We left that appointment really sad, upset, and angry. We did the NIPT blood test and everything came back normal. We are so happy that the baby is doing fine and are definitely going to see another high risk doctor who will hopefully have better bedside manners. But we are having our gender reveal on Easter Sunday and cannot wait to find out if we are having a little boy or girl!
