Playing independently or with other children?

Do you feel like your June baby prefers to play independently or directly with other kids his or her age?

For example, mine likes to play more by himself, but will occasionally engage with other kids to do things like watch over their shoulder, ask them a question, the like. Our daycare expressed he doesn’t play with the other kids in his class much but I kind of thought that was normal for this age?

He also just seems shy in general, he’s of course most comfortable and talkative around his parents and grandparents who he sees often.
