Is it standard to know baby’s weight ?

I see a lot of people saying their baby weight who are also due around when I’m due and I don’t know my baby’s weight. At my last appointment/ultrasound I was 26 weeks and they did a quick to check and see how baby is doing but they didn’t weigh my appointment before that was my anatomy scan which was at 24 weeks and they also didn’t weigh they did however do some measurements and checked her organs but not weight. I’ll definitely be asking my doctor next week at my appointment where I’ll be 30 weeks, just wanted to know in the meantime if it’s standard and when they start checking for weight ???

I’ve been told once with my daughter and the tech said “oh she’s almost 10 pounds, she’ll get much bigger by the time you have her” at 35-36 weeks when I had her at 41 weeks she was 8 pounds 9 ounces.

The weights they give you while pregnant are a total prediction/guess. They said my daughter was almost 6 lbs at 36+5, and she was born at 37+2 and weighed 7lbs 11oz.

I think it depends on your doctor. They can be wildly inaccurate so some doctors don’t do it (mine doesn’t). I prefer it that way honestly! Seems it causes a lot of stress

A lot of women get growth scans in the third trimester so that's when they find out the estimate

No. I’ve had two kids. They’ve never estimated baby’s birth based on ultrasound or any other means 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeahhhh those things aren’t accurate. I wouldn’t stress. I was told one week my kid was measuring on track and the next that he was going to be huge. He was 6 lbs 11 oz.

I’m 34 weeks and just had a “growth scan” (ultrasound to see if baby is head down, getting ready for birth, etc) and it’s the first time they’ve told me how much they believe she weighs. My baby is estimating at 4.10 right now. I’ve had friends who e had their baby’s weight be incredibly wrong though. As long as they say baby looks healthy and is developing well and your uterus is expanding properly, I wouldn’t worry too much about the weight.

It depends on DR & whether you’re high risk or not. I have GD, have had it with all my kids, & I’ve gotten growth scans & Induction dates with all of them. My son gets a weight estimate at every mfm growth scan appointment.

My last ultrasound with my second baby was the 20 week anatomy scan (other than a quick ultrasound at 39 weeks to check he was head down and there was enough fluid). So I had no idea of what to expect for size!
