Should I buy preemie clothes ?

I’m gonna be scheduled a c-section at 36/37 weeks should I buy preemie baby clothes or the newborn size will be just fine ?

a couple, my best friend was induced at 36 weeks for preeclampsia and her baby boy was 6lbs and didn't fit newborn for a couple weeks!

I would get 1-2.
I gave birth 39 weeks 4 days. Both my step kids were 10 and 9 lb babies... my daughter was 6 lbs 13 oz and dropped to 5 lbs 3 oz. Newborn was massive. She's still small. 4 months and 12 lbs 5 oz.

Does your family have a history of big or small babies? I would definitely take that into account. I had my first baby at 36 weeks and he was already 7 pounds 12 ounces. So definitely too big for preemie but he did wear newborn for a couple of weeks. If your family has average or small babies I would buy a few preemie in case

I personally would.. try to find second hand so you’re not spending a fortune especially if you don’t need them. I had my daughter early at 37.9 and she could have used them for sure. She was 6.13 lbs and she was floating in newborn for a good couple weeks.

I’d have a couple. I only had one premie outfit and had an emergency csection at 37 weeks. My husband had to leave and buy premie clothes because the newborn were insanely big.  She was in premie for a month and then newborn for 2 months.

Yes I’d say buy some! I had my daughter at 37 weeks and she was 5lbs 10oz and everything we had was way to big for her including hats! This time I’m prepared and have lots of premie and newborn just in case

Probably not. I would start with newborn clothes and you can always get a few pieces of preemie clothes after baby is born, if you discover you need them. 
My 34 weeker was 5lb 14oz and fit into newborn just fine.

There’s honestly no way to know for sure. For example, my first daughter was born at 37+1 and weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce. My other was born at 38 weeks and weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces. ♥️

I personally would buy just like one or two items. My second was 7 lb 10 oz at 40+5 and newborn size is borderline big on him. If he were born 3-4 weeks earlier, he would definitely need premie.

My guy was born at 38 weeks and weighed 7lbs, he fit a couple of premie outfits but mostly newborn. At his two week appt he weighed 7lbs 14oz and I switched all his clothes to 0-3 when he turned 3 weeks, newborn was getting snug then.
