OB wants me to have a C section big baby
I’m 37 weeks and 4 days, I’m expecting my first baby, since the first ultrasounds, she was measuring very big, more than 99th percentile. Last ultrasound at 36 weeks she was 9.5lbs! Now the OB is recommending a C-section because they think she might be 11lbs at 40weeks. But I do have the option of getting induced at 39 weeks and try vaginally (if she doesn’t come before) Now I know that they estimations can be off by 1 or 2 pounds, and my dream birth would have been an all natural one… I’m really scared of a c section, not only for the recovery, but I hear it’s harder to bond with baby, breastfeeding could be harder too… I’m 5’3 but on the larger side, I gained a lot of weight during the pregnancy, no GD.
Is anybody in the same boat as me? I guess I’m looking for shared experience to help me make my decision.
