How to brush infant teeth?

I’m a ftm and my baby is ten months old and has eight teeth. She eats solid food sometimes but mostly breastfeeds. I’m doing baby led weaning so she eats things like sweet potatoes and French toast and things like that. Am I supposed to be brushing her teeth with toothpaste? And how often should I brush them? Any advice will be appreciated!

W were advised to start brushing with baby toothpaste as soon as the first tooth appeared. Once a day until she turned one and then we started twice a day.

Yes, it is recommended to start brushing as soon as their first tooth pops through. You should start by using a “smear” (aka a tiny bit) of toothpaste on the toothbrush and then once they hit 2 years is when you should start doing more of the toothpaste.

We got a finger brush and started brushing 2x a day as soon as her first tooth appeared. Our pediatric dentist said kids training toothpaste is fine to use or you could use regular kids toothpaste with fluoride. They only need a tiny bit. Like a grain of rice-sized amount. It's also a good time to take babe to the dentist as it's recommended to go within six month of their first teeth or first birthday whichever happens first.

We started with a finger toothbrush and water until she got her first tooth then switched to a regular toddler toothbrush when she got her first tooth.  We used Toms training toothpaste without fluoride under a year, then her dentist advised to use a fluoride toothpaste at her 1 year appointment because we have well water.

Tbh I’m bad at it 😅 my son turned one last month and he only has five teeth. I brush sometimes with his brush  and water. I feel like I never brushed my daughters teeth  until way later as well

I didn’t use toothpaste until she was 1. I used one of those finger toothbrush with water. You could always call your pediatrician and ask.
