One ovary

So does anybody know if you will still ovulate every month if you have one ovary? I heard the one you have will take over for the one that is gone and ovulate every month but I don't know if that's true for sure or not. I had to have my left one removed due to having a giant cyst in it and also it had adhered to the wall of my body. I have been trying for a couple years, although not totally faithfully, but no luck ?. Any help is great!
