Others talking about your experience

Does it ever bother you when anybody who witnessed you going through cancer talks about it to strangers?
Recently went to a family dinner. My aunt invited many of her friends that I've never met before. We were praying, and she and my grandma started talking about my experience. Later, my mom was telling my story to another unfamiliar woman.
I don't mind it all the time. And I'm grateful that they pray for me and spread my story sometimes. But I'm also a very private person. I just don't understand why it comes up in conversation so often with my family? Or why they feel the need to discuss it with random people?
Mostly just ranting. But I'm wondering what you girls think/your similar experiences.
