Anyone get pregnant while on BC and future hubby wants to break up?

We were engaged to be married when I found out despite taking BC regularly, I am now pregnant. 
We were discussing our options when he decided to bring his 6 year old in and tell him he will have a baby brother or sister and acting all supportive saying we will do this as a family etc. At first my stepson was excited- ten minutes later he started throwing a tantrum that he didn’t want it.
Fast forward a few days later to last night when my partner starts talking about how this isn’t the future we had planned and he doesn’t want this baby and he doesn’t want to marry me anymore either. He’s worried about his son feeling hurt or left out since we have him 50% of the time.
I just can’t even fathom everything the said last night. Anyone in a similar boat? 🥺

Well, still have your baby. He does realize that his son will still have to deal with being a sibling even if you two don't get married right? Does he plan on never having them around one another their whole childhood? There could be all sorts of emotions running around right now and he may come back around. Many kids get upset when they are getting a new sibling. Heck my oldest asked if we could send my youngest back to the doctor where he came from. It is an adjustment period for everyone. I am sorry you are going through this, and best of luck with your little baby.

Yes, totally rational for your SO to allow his 6 year old child to dictate the fate of your unborn child. One of my sons was about 3.5 when i got pregnant with my now almost 3 year old. One day he was thru the roof happy, next day he hated his new brother and he went back and forth until the baby got here. Since hes been born he has been such a good brother. He is in counseling for school related learning issues and we make sure his counselor talks to him about how hes adjusted to new siblings and he has never once said he wasnt happy they were here (i have had a little girl since as well). It is a known fact BC is not 100% effective. Your man needs to grow up and take responsibility for the life he took part in creating. This is a sign tho, of how he may potentially handle unexpected stressful events in the future. Is that the kind of partner you want forever? You will have to make some big decisions but pls dont have an abortion bc he guilts you into it.

I know 2 people that gotten pregnant on birth control they say it's not 100% anyway but life never goes as planned if people think that they should think again and going off of what a child say or feel especially 6 is jus a excuse that mean he won't have any more kids just bc his child don't want is crazy I would keep my baby and to me seem like he didn't want to get married to begin with.
