Breathable crib mattress?!

Question

Been reading about the SecureBeginnings or SafeSleep breathable mattresses. Does anyone have one or buying one? They also look like a breeze to clean! As a baby I slept propped on my side or tummy....and my friend's baby could turn herself over at a very young age.

Worth it to buy? Also looking into breathable crib bumpers? Thanks!

I personally would never spend that much on a crib mattress. A million people use regular mattresses and their babies are just fine. We all survived with regular mattresses. It's a great idea in theory -but I honestly don't think I can justify the price. I'm good with my cheap mattress that I won't mind recycling once im done using it.

Google the Newton crib mattress. It's also breatheable and they seem to have much better customer service than Secure Beginnings (check out the comments on secure beginnings FB page to see what I mean). It's not a whole lot cheaper than SB but you can actually use a normal crib sheet with it once the baby is old enough. Or they also sell breatheable crib sheet to go with it by Aden and Anais.

They look nice and safe but they are really expensive so I'm not sure if I'll be buying one yet. My first hated sleeping in the crib and never used it so i wouldnt want to waste that much money for it not to be used.

We had bought the secure beginnings matteress for our first baby and will definitely be using it for our second that's on the way! We had the unfortunate event of attending a funeral for a 5 month old who did pass away due to sids and I couldn't sleep until we ordered this matteress. I'm my mind out of all the expensive baby items that people buy from 200 diaper bags to several hundred dollar strollers, this was WELL worth the money for us.  Yes it is fairly costly but I'd rather have a safe sleeping environment than some fancy stroller. It's all personal opinion though! I would recommend it 100%.
