Car seat test?

My baby is in the nicu and they told me he has to take a car seat test. Anyone know why and what this is?

They’re not only checking to make sure babies can properly fit in the seat, but make sure their oxygen levels stay where there suppose to be while in the car seat. My daughter had it and it was super easy!

My baby was born on Valentine’s Day this year at 36 weeks. Typically they do it with premature babies to make sure they fit well in the car seat and won’t slip out. When they took my baby to go do this we were allowed to watch through the glass from the outside. They put him in the car seat and the  car seat gently moved left to right. So nothing to worry about mama! Just making sure your little one won’t slip out and is comfortable.

My daughter was born last March at 36 weeks! They told me that any baby “premature” under 37 weeks has to have a car seat test before they could go home. She said it would take two hours and all they do is monitor baby oxygen and levels in the car seat to make sure they were okay! She did amazing and we got to go home the next few hours! 🤍🤍

The car seat test is to see if the baby will be ok with being in a car seat for 90 mins. Idk why it has to be so long but at the hospital they did it for my son when he was born in January. 10 years ago when I had my oldest son they never even brought it up so idk if they did it or not.
