Conceiving on Clomid

Hey guys. I’m so confused and my doctor doesn’t have much knowledge unfortunately. So, I have to take birth control for 3 weeks and then on my period week, I would take Clomid.. how long do I wait after taking Clomid before I restart the cycle and know if I didn’t conceive that time around?
