A new perspective

Meagan • Have a happy day. 😄

So, I used to be one of those women who thought being a SAHM was easy. That it wasn't nearly as stressful as being a full time working parent. I have since been proven very wrong.

My mom got a puppy in October and can't handle the puppy, the baby(4mo), and the toddler all at once so I've had to become a SAHM because my paychecks would have covered gas and daycare, so there's no point in me working. In the last four months I have learned the true meaning of stress. Which is saying something as I used to be inventory and customer service manager at a garden center. High spring (late March-Memmorial Day) would see me working five 8-12 hour days with no breaks aside from maybe a quick lunch, on my feet, phone ringing non-stop and a line of customers if I wasn't in the warehouse. I stocked shelves, helped customers, kept the warehouse organized and made inventory reports for the store manager to order.

Now, after four months of dealing with my almost 3 year old daughter and a newborn, I miss my 40+ hour a week job where everyone did what I told them, I didn't have to cook, there was minimal cleaning, I got to talk to someone who wasn't two, and nobody needed to touch me 24/7. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and I don't resent them or regret my choice, but to anyone who thinks it's stressful to work a 40 and manage a house, it's really not that bad. Enjoy the freedom my friend.
