VBAC after 9 years

Currently 27+4 with my 2nd. Had an emergency CS a little over 9 years ago due to my daughter and I’d heart rate fluctuations (so they claim). Now I would love to do a VBAC which my doctor said I’m a great candidate for since my CS was quite some time ago. She did however say that they’ll schedule me for a CS if the baby doesn’t naturally come on her on close to my due date. I DON’T want a CS or one scheduled. I would prefer she comes naturally instead of getting a CS. Is this something I can request instead of getting scheduled? I want to make sure I’m standing up for myself and my wants and needs and if it isn’t medically necessary I don’t want to go down that road. HELP 😩
