Please give me the power to not quit my job today
I’m 39 weeks, and I work from home in accounting. I’m part of a team of 3 people and my boss has let all of them take vacations this week because I’m about to be on maternity leave (working until I go into labor 🙄).
The last three weeks my boss has been putting extra work on me, and micromanaging like crazy. And has also hired in someone that will be taking my job while I’m gone and literally starts on my induction date. I’m only gone for 12 weeks of unpaid FMLA but they keep trying to convince me to come back earlier.
Anyway, I’m here completely alone, attempting to work through contractions every 15 minutes or so. I’ve asked to leave and my boss mentioned that if I log off then HR will consider this the beginning of my maternity leave which I do not want since I only have the 12 weeks and I’m not schedule for induction for another week and a half.
She’s also been messaging me every 5 minutes with extra stuff to do and assigning me projects that will literally take weeks to complete.
Its taking every ounce of my power to just get through the next few days and hope that my baby decides to come out on his own.
You would think working for a woman owned and woman ran company, that they would have a bit more compassion and offer better maternity than literally nothing. But no.
