MIL wants to be on FaceTime during the birth, would this piss you off?
So I love my in laws, they are great and I’ve never had any complaints about them. However, we live across the country from them and my husband and I expressed our concerns in not wanting any visitors until our baby is a month old. That’s fine, the in laws and my family planned to come out about a month later. Perfect.
However, my husband informed me today, that my MIL thought we would keep her on FaceTime during the birth so her and my husbands grandmother could see the birth.
Uh no.
My own mother didn’t even request this.
I’m an extremely private person, and the fact that they thought this is something I would be okay with proves that they don’t know me well and is honestly upsetting.
Since both of our families are so far away, we were going to send out a message in one big group chat when I go to the hospital, and update the chat when he’s born with a photo of just the baby. No videos and no photos of me.
Then when we return home and get settled in we were going to take a few days to do FaceTime calls.
I feel like idk how to handle this now, like they wanted to see the whole show, like baby coming out and everything and that’s just a huge no for me and I feel disrespected.
Would this upset you?
