Does true love exist?

Its difficult to believe in real love isn't it. Everyone cheating. People getting divorced. Problems everywhere. Why would you even want to draw it on you. More trouble than its worth. Seems there's no such thing as everlasting love anymore. Anyone get down because of it?

Yes true love exists. That’s doesn’t mean there aren’t hard times, problems, etc. with that person.

I dont feel down about those thoughts because what everyone else is doing has 0 effect on my life. My husband and i dont cheat, we arent getting divorced, and problems are everywhere whether you are single or married. I would rather spend my life with my best friend by my side every morning when i wake up and tackle lifes problems together compared to living life alone. Living life alone because im too scared to get involved seems lonelier than risking finding happiness. Marriage and relationships are what you make of them. If you expect cheating, divorce, and problems, thats all youre going to find 🤷🏼‍♀️

I sort of dislike the idea of true love, I think people focus on it and think that that is all a relationship needs. Relationships are work. Hard work. They require excellent communication, compromise, and empathy. While I don't think everyone is compatible, I do think divorce often happens because one or both partners don't continue putting the work in. True love without this kind of commitment to making it work is not enough.

My husband isn’t cheating and neither am I. We chose each other. We chose to make it work. We let dumb stuff roll off and focus on what matters. We accept the sometimes one needs to give more than the other. We have agreed that it’s worth it to fight for each other

I believe that lifetime relationships are harder now, because we are moving so far away from our biological nature as a species.
We have never been as connected technology wise, but we've never been this disconnected from ourselves, our feelings, our real lives. everyone needs to look perfect at all costs. almost literally.
People feel the need and the privilege of looking inside of other people's lives and actually believe they have the right to other people's truths.
I Believe that because of all that, people do not work on themselves, their relationship or their lives. they just crave other people's lives. creating a continuous "the grass is greener" effect while many people are miserable, even the person who is supposedly perfect. because perfect doesn't exist and it's an impossible expectation to comply to.

I do believe that there is a soul mate out there for everyone. But finding that soul mate seems impossible! Back in the days where social media didn't even exist, relationships had more meaning, people used to actually spend time together properly without documenting every part of their private life on their phones to display the 'perfect life' on insta or Facebook. Back in the day of our grandparents generation you'd see less divorces because people didn't give up on each other and they valued what they had. It's a lot different these days, I'm single and 40. I didn't plan for it to happen, I thought I'd be married by now but unfortunately life took a different path, I highly doubt I'll find my person now, I feel too old.

I believe true love does exist. But it's built. I knew the day I meet my husband that his personality was amazing. I made excuses for exs bad personalities. But with him i felt proud of him and not embarrassed by him. My mother taught me growing up that you stay even miserable just because. But that mind set made my adult life miserable. I stay in 3 terrible relationships for years each. Just because. (Years later she leaves my dad after 26 years of marriage.) I tell my sisters all the time to not stay when miserable. It's okay for a relationship to not work out. It's not okay to let yourself feel so unhappy. 
Sorry I got side tracked. My husband though. We got along. I liked who he was as a person without me. Like he didn't need me to be a good person like my past. We went through a few hard times. But I have never felt love like I do now. I think before it was forced love. This is natural love. And to me that is true love.

Been with my guy for 15 years (since I was 18yo) and yes, it does exist. He still gets me all giddy and I squeel when I think about him! He's my best friend. Just don't stand for the crap.

I feel like "true love" is bullshit, but plenty of people are happy and stay together. Its just important to be realistic too.
