Norwegian smoked salmon?

Does anyone know if Norwegian smoked salmon is safe during pregnancy? I loveeee lox but in the US, it’s one of the things on the “not safe” list. I know that Scottish smoked salmon is fine but I haven’t yet found any. Aldi has Norwegian salmon and so I’m wondering where that falls. Or if anyone knows where to find Scottish smoked salmon! I always want a bagel with lox when I’m pregnant (and when I’m not 😂)!

I have no idea what that product is, but here they do smoked salmom two ways one is cold smoke, that looks raw for the eye, and one is hot smoke, that looks more pinkish-orange.
I would not mind eating both, but in cooking point of view, and American food reccomendarions for pregnant people, the cold smoked one is not reccomended, because it has not been heated up to the certain temperature. It is raw salmom, that has smoky flavor.

I’m Norwegian and have been eating salmon throughout this entire pregnancy (31 weeks) It’s not on any ‘no’ lists over here, so unless they process the fish in any way in the US it should be fine.

Lox is cold-smoked salmon. It is often served on a bagel or in a sandwich with cream cheese. In the US, it’s advised against during pregnancy due to the potential risk of listeria infections, however, I was reading that it is fine in the UK. At first I thought it was just the type of fish and where it was from, but now it seems like it’s just the country’s recommendations. That being said, I just looked again, and there was a listeria outbreak in England in April so now they’re advising against it too. I think it is more about knowing the source of the fish and how it was stored (which can be difficult) than the fish itself.

Another Norwegian here - unless the sealing/package is broken, it's over the "use by date" or the do something with it before it enters the US it's perfectly safe to eat.

Cold smoked salmon is technically not supposed to be consumed during pregnancy, however I think it’s more of a grey area. If it’s from a reputable restaurant/grocery store then it should be fine.

Smoked salmon is being cooked by the heat of the smoke, so it should be ok, but I’m not positive. I know the texture of smoked salmon is the same as cooked, light and flaky not like raw where it’s chewy.

I'm not familiar with this specific type of fish, but generally fish is safe in the US during pregnancy. Didn't used to be but things have changed in recent years. Make sure that the mercury level isn't high and that it's cooked.
