Should faster food allow workers to have long nails ?

A light topic lol 
So I just started doing door dash on the weekends so I frequent a lot of fast food places. I noticed in my area so many workers have huge extremely long fingernails. I also noticed today when I was handed the order that this girls nails were so yellow and dirty underneath she had long acrylic nails like literally as long as my finger and the real nail shows on the underside and they were so dirty. I thought this was gross since they handle food all day. Without carrying a nail brush around to work I don't know how they are properly cleaning their hands. She was also struggling to get a soda lid on due to how long the nails were. This has happened at a few other places too where I e seen employees struggle with long nails making everything go a little slower. 
When I worked at subway as a teenager I had to take out my eye brow piercing because they said it was unsanitary. I'm not sure how that is unsanitary but 3 inch fingernails are fine. 
What do you all think ? Am I just easily grossed out ? Lol

Fake or long nails should not be worn when working with food. Nails often rip through gloves and the pandemic taught us many people don’t wash their hands either at all or properly. If you do wash you’re likely not doing it long enough or efficiently without a brush while at work. I have found an acrylic nail in my food before (long ago when I still ate out) and on numerous occasions have seen gloved workers with nails popped through the glove. I’ve also seen many of food workers improperly washing hands, handling food, using dirty ass phones with gloves on and then handling food, etc. All of that leads me to believe hand and nails aren’t clean. 
While I don’t think huge restrictions should be placed on workers by employers this is one of them.

I mean, if I walked into a restaurant and the people making my food looked unhygienic in any fashion, I’d scoot my butt out the door and never come back. I’m sure many others feel the same. I also don’t return to places with rude staff. Profit loss causes businesses to close or run bare bones. 
On top of the customer viewpoint, there are mandatory food safety protocols everywhere. I have worked in both food and pharmaceutical production plants. You can’t even wear makeup or jewelry due to the risk of it contaminating food. Vanity is not a reason to risk other peoples’ health.

Businesses shouldn’t have any say over the length of nails, color or style of hair, piercings or tattoos, etc. 
They should, however, have policies and protocols in place for health and safety, such as gloves/hairnets/face masks, etc. 
I also think it’s appropriate to require tattoos be covered up if they have racist, sexually explicit, etc, imagery on them.

Super long nails that would poke through gloves are unsanitary. People used to have to keep their nails trimmed and cover their hair with a hairnet or have it secured without flyaway strands when working in food services, but that doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. Personal expression appears to have trumped hygiene. I have no problem with personal expression unless and until it crosses the line into potentially compromising other people's health.

The ppl I know that wear long nails are super particular about keeping them clean bc they draw attention and are worn to have a polished feminine look. Someone that has dirty finger nails, will have dirty finger nails whether they’re long or short. I’ve seen ppl with with dirt packed under their very short nails too 🤢 As long as the person is being held to the health and sanitation policy, long nails don’t bother me. They should be able to wear gloves properly while handling food and washing their hands very thoroughly.

Some of y’all have never worked fast food and it shows... the people who hand you your order or take your order, rarely if ever touch actual food. They work the front counter or drive thru, all they touch are bags and the register. So nails aren’t a big deal for them. You should be concerned if you see a cook with long ass nails...
