How did you manage a newborn at night and while your spouse worked the day?

How did you all do it? Taking care of a newborn at night and during the day? He doesn’t help at night so I’m up all night with her and during the day until he gets home around 4. How do you do it???

I slept when the baby slept. I didn’t worry about house chores, and powered through the hard parts.

You need to talk to your partner having a job is no excuse as to why not help! It's his child aswell even if your a stay at home mom. 
If you don't take care of your health it starts affecting your mental health. Keep in mind post partum depression can hit any where after 18 months from birth. 
He's missing out bonding with the baby. Those are little moments you will never get back 
My husband would work
16 hr shifts 7 days a week 
And he would help me out every single night. There's no excuse for him not being able to.

I wouldn’t expect him to help at night when he has to go to work. Mainly because my husband drives long distances and I wouldn’t risk him being tired for that. I just slept when the baby slept and made sure I went to bed early to try and catch up. The house wasn’t perfect for quite a while but who cares. I will add…. my husband would help on the evenings after he got home so I had time to myself then, e.g for showers without being interrupted. It’s about sharing responsibility, he also helped with everything else like washing and shopping where possible. He would do it after work or sometimes put on the wash in the morning for me so I could sleep in a bit 🤷🏽‍♀️ gota work on communication and your expectations tbh so it’s fair

Why doesn’t he help at night? Have him do all of the diaper changes at night if you are the one feeding. If he is unwilling to do that, he can do bottle feeds while you pump. No reason he doesn’t have to be a parent at night while you do.

My husband and I stayed home together for 12 weeks and luckily baby was sleeping through the night by the time he returned to work. She’s now 7 months old and we’re both back at work but she rarely wakes up. Usually once per night once per week. We take turns getting her. Diaper change, bottle then right back to sleep.

I'm on the same schedule as you! Our baby is 12 weeks old and I'm on maternity leave, while my husband is working. Ive been caring for our baby throughout the night and during the day. Its alot! I manage by going to bed early so that I'm not too exhausted by the time she gets up for her first nursing session then I go back to sleep right after feeding her. 
To take a shower, I've done so many combinations of things and what worked for us was feeding and changing her then putting her to sleep in the swing. Now that shes 12 weeks, I put her on the activity mat outside the bathroom door and keep the door open so I can see her clearly. 
If I get tired, I nap when shes napping but mostly I just drink an insane amount of coffee to get through lol
