Would you automatically shorted the name Robin (for a boy) to Rob or Robbie?

Loving the name Robin but I’m not a fan of Rob or Robbie. Wondering if people would quickly use a nickname with this name ?

You can correct people while he's young, but as a Caitlin who's mother absolutely did not want me called Katie, people are going to call them what they want 🤷‍♀️ I can choose not to respond but a lot of people call me Cait and at work they call me Cece. I don't like or feel like a Katie because it feels much too young for me now. As your child ages, Rob may be what some people call him. I personally don't like Robbie. At the same time, I have a grandmother and a great aunt both named Robin/Robyn respectively. My grandmother goes by Robin and my great aunt is Aunt Robbie.

100% yes would get shortened to a nickname. Not by everyone and not all the time, but it’s definitely going to happen.

I worked with a man whose name was Robin. That’s how he was introduced to me and I don’t think I ever heard anyone attempt to call him Rob
