Skin Brightner for Vaginal Area

Question

The skin around my vaginal area (lips and inside of legs closest to my vag) has gotten pretty dark. I have an ingrown hair serum which is also a brightener from European Wax Center but I don’t think it’s working well .. my waxer also suggested a lemon in the shower but I haven’t tried it yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cream or something to use to help brighten the area? TIA :)

I don’t recommend using lemon juice directly on your skin, for sure. Using raw honey every other day down there brightens your skin a lot

Doctor here - I don’t know your medical history but there is a medical condition called Acanthosis Nigricans that causes the areas in your axilla (that’s your underarms), groin/thigh, and neck to become dark that is directly linked to Type II Diabetes. Excessive weight gain can be associated as it creates pre-diabetes and eventually Diabetes. I would suggest verifying with your doc just to be sure to not only improve your general health but also prevent further darkening as skin products can only go so far if it is an ongoing issue.

Get on Etsy or INSTAGRAM and look for a small business that makes and sells Kojic Acid products.
I have a wash and a lotion with kojic acid in it.
I use it once or twice a month (my skin is sensitive).
And it works great. I got mine from the small business Bodyd By Maya! 
I heard that Alpha arbutin is stronger but I haven't tried yet. I don't really need to because the Bodyd stuff is so good.
But the wash that she sells now and the one I got months ago are 2 different formulas. I wouldn't buy the new one because it has WAY TOO MUCH turmeric in it and I'm scared of the stains it'll cause.

I wouldn't use lemon juice or any types of sugar scrubs, including honey or anything like that, because it can cause some serious irritation to such a sensitive area or the sugars can cause yeast infections. Especially if you're prone to yeast infections. 
If you want a natural treatment, I've seen people say they use a turmeric paste to brighten the skin. This can cause yellow stains on your skin if you have a lighter complexion.
If you have a good facial serum with vitamin c or something that's supposed to be brightening, you can try that. Just spot test on your thighs. 
Be sure to gently and regularly exfoliate the area, 2 or 3 times a week is plenty. 
As for a specific product, I've used the PFB with good results.

Lemon and lemon oil is great for scars, while it can be a natural pigment, use that, & honey in addition to the skin brighter
