IUD or implant?!

Last time I was on BC, I got the Mirena 8 weeks postpartum. Hated it. My body wasn’t ready I suppose. Had it removed because of the continued bleeding and cramping. Figured it was too early. My question is because maybe later it would be a different experience if I tried it again or maybe the implant would be easier. Thoughts and experiences welcome!

I’ve only ever had the Mirena IUD and loved it. It’s possible it didn’t work for you due to being too soon after birth, the one I had inserted after birth also needed to be replaced as the doctor didn’t put it in quite the right spot (I no longer see that doctor at all). I would try to give it another chance, possibly try the Skyla IUD, I think it’s a little smaller than the Mirena?

I've had two implants over 6 years and loved them. When I was ready for children, I had it removed and was pregnant within 2months so I had no effects from it.

My sister had the implant and got it removed cause she wasn’t herself. She was just way more bitchy and constantly aggravated but other than that no other probs. I had the Mirena got it taken out after a few weeks cause I dropped a lot of weight on in. Had the Copper IUD for about 3yrs my period was normal but they were extremely heavy and my cramps were really bad to the point where I just wanted to sit in bed and just not talk or engage with anyone. I always suggest the Nuva ring to women who ask—even though it’s hormonal I still had a good experience on it, no pains just bitchy but I got a lower dosage and was fine afterwards. After having the iud twice I’m just against putting foreign objects in our uterus. It could pierce your uterine wall but it’s not so common. With the Nuva ring you can feel and see it and have more control with it

I got the Paragard when I was 4 months pp. Had heavier periods for about a year (dr told me to expect that) but I haven’t had any issues.
