Edit from last post: I'm scared I have chronic anxiety

Edit because I have some questions:

Can you take medications for a limited time and than try to leave it (with doctor advice)?

And how exactly does the meds make you feel? I guess it lessens your symptoms but I don't really get it

So last week on Tuesday I went to the doctor because I'm not feeling well and always woke up tired, had tension headaches and memory loss and talked to her about taking something on SOS.

So she told me she was afraid I already had something chronic (chronic anxiety).

I am a "I can handle this" type of person. So I told her that I would exercise, try to drink less coffee and try to relax a bit more and I thought I could get better on my own. Apart from a sporadic rescue medication to sleep (SOS med) + daily vitamins she prescribed.

Well one week later I'm not better in terms of memory and I did an huge mistake at work; although I significantly reduced the amount of coffee I get and I'm doing exercise 2 times a week. (I know I should exercise more but I have tons of things to do and so far that's how much time I managed to fit exercise in). I don't think the SOS med did anything even on the days I took it.

So should I email the doctor to ask her what should I do (of I should reschedule an appointment or take something chronic)?

Should I wait about a week and see if the vitamins help?

I'm a bit scared of taking something for chronic anxiety and getting used to it so I won't be able to stop taking it when I no longer need it

Please help. I'm a bit lost

Edit: my eye twitches and I am feeling overwhelmed with studying and health matters regarding my family so I think my doctor is right in terms of diagnosis
