Please help- Should I stop potty training?
We started trying to potty train my daughter at 2 years old. She didn’t like it one bit and freaked out every time we tried. I put the potty up and decided to wait until she was older. She’s now 2 1/2 and we are trying again. She will get excited about her sticker chart for the potty, but that’s as far as it goes. I have to show her a video on my phone (1 min video) of her bouncing in a bounce house for her to agree to try to go potty. Then when she’s on it, she’ll sit for a few seconds and try to leave without even attempting to pee. If I try to get her to stay longer, she’ll bawl her eyes out and say “need a hug. Want to get out. We’ll try again in a little bit.” 😭 She is holding her pee all day aside from nap and bedtime (we put a pull up on her during those times.— please don’t tell me this is advised against. I’ve read that it’s confusing for baby, but she can’t handle not having one at this point. It would stress her out even more). I feel terrible. Should I just stop training until she’s older? Its only been 3 days. Otherwise, does anyone have any helpful tips to help calm her fears?
