How was your abortion experience?

I am so incredibly scared of both. I have history of anemia so I don’t know if I will even qualify for a medical abortion. However the thought of the suction abortion scares me SO much. What type of abortion did you go with and what was your experience?? I’m so sorry for asking such a touchy question it’s just I am so anxious

I have had two abortions. Medical & surgical. I can say without a doubt surgical was so much easier (and I’m a very squeamish person who does not like procedures). My doctor at planned parenthood was so kind, eased my nerves and talked to me about how carrying a pregnancy to term is actually more dangerous than having an abortion. I felt super safe, it wasn’t painful, uncomfortable sure, but it was over in 5 minutes and I felt like myself again. I would not recommend a medical termination as my personal experience was not very good, but that’s just me

I had the surgical one at around 7 weeks. Although I spent about 4 hours at the clinic, the procedure itself took about 5 minutes and I was able to handle the pain without sedation or anesthesia. After the procedure I went home and slept but it was more so from the stress I had been feeling not the pain. I got a prescription for naproxen that I took round the clock for about 5 days after because I didn’t want to feel any pain. I had a bit of cramping the first few days and my lower stomach felt a bit sore but other than that I was fine. I bled for about 8 days with days 2 and 3 being the heaviest. I took the day of and after off of work but I could’ve retuned to work the next day if I needed to. I got my period back 5 weeks after the procedure and have felt fine. Best of luck to you 💗

I had the actual procedure instead of just taking the pill they offer, only because I literally couldn’t stand the thought of my unborn taking a week to pass away instead of just a 15min procedure, and passing the tissue at home would have emotionally killed me. It’s a nerve racking and painful experience both emotionally and physically.

I had the pill when I was around 16 and again 3 years ago (im 34) here in the UK the pill is a more at home experience take one at clinic and then one at home, it can be painful, my first was horrible pain, 2nd wasn’t but I did haemorrhage about 3-4 weeks later and hospital kept sending me home even tho ild suddenly explode with blood on around 4 occasions!! 
I also had  D&C this year after I had a miscarriage again I lost over 1000ml of blood needed a blood transfusion and was really unwell, 
But I mean along as your not alone and have support around you, you can do it it only lasts 1-2days of bad pain.
