When are you being induced with gestational diabetes?

I am currently having a hard time controlling my fasting numbers. I’m on 1,000mg of metformin at night and 500mg in the morning. I’m curious what the next step is going to be if I can’t get the numbers under control. 
My last pregnancy I was able to keep it diet controlled and made it full term, so this is new territory for me. 
Any one else have a similar experience?

If everything is going well, I’ll be induced at 39 weeks. That’s what happened with my last pregnancy and that’s the plan for this one. If your numbers are u fee control, insulin will probably my be your next step. I’ve been on insulin since the beginning of this pregnancy. Diet/exercise doesn’t help my numbers at all. 😑

My doctor said it depend on size of the baby. My daughter was measuring 5lbs at 31 weeks and they don’t want her to get to 9lbs so they are inducing me at 38 weeks

My first I was on insulin and we induced at 39 weeks and my second was a bit of metformin at night and we had a C-section at 38 weeks. I'm on my third and thankfully no GD this time and I'm aiming for 39 weeks C-section again.
