Was I in the wrong?

So my sister-in-law recently got Covid and she has a boyfriend that lives with my in-laws. My sister-in-law texted my husband asking if we could pick up her boyfriend from the recruiters office. Well on top of that she wanted us to pick her up at first it was fine but then I remembered that she had Covid so I told my husband hey we can go get a boyfriend but she can’t come because she is positive with Covid. Well my sister-in-law went and told my mother-in-law about it and my mother-in-law started yelling at me about it saying it’s been 4 days since she started showing symptoms she can go. Well I asked her mom when did she test positive for Covid. she said she tested positive Sunday so I mentioned to her technically it’s when you test positive she needs to stay home until Friday We can go pick up The boyfriend ourselves because from our place it’s a 20 minute drive, from your place to pick up your daughter to the recruiter‘s office is a 45 minute drive. On top of that my husband and I asked for like 10 dollars in gas money which they have never had a problem with giving us gas money ever. Like my husband and I don’t ask for the gas money right then and there we just say hey when you get the chance $10 in gas money would be fine or even five dollars. I don’t understand what was said that was wrong but my mother in law started yelling at my husband s saying we don’t anything for the family at all when we have been picking up there daughter for 2 years from high school. Am I in the wrong for not letting the daughter in the car because she was positive for Covid and we didn’t want to risk getting it?
