LH and FSH

Last month my period was almost two weeks late. I of course took a bunch of pregnancy tests. I had one that looked like a faint positive (came up within the 3 minute window and had color), but all the rest were negative.

When I finally got my period it was the worst it’s ever been. All of this combined had me a little concerned so I set out to get an idea of how my hormones were using the Proov Complete set of hormone tests. You start with a baseline FSH, LH, E1G and PDG on Day 5 and then you test FSH again on Day 7 and Day 9 and then LH and E1G starting after that, then PDG after LH peaks.

My baseline FSH was 9.3, which is considered in range and my FSH today, Day 7 was 10.8, which they consider borderline high. So I looked back and my LH: FSH ratio was 0.57. They say normal is 1 and anything below 0.5 is reason to contact your doctor as it could be perimenopause.

This coupled with my late period and mid cycle spotting (which my OBGYN says is probably just ovulation) has me a little concerned. I saw my OBGYN a week before I was supposed to get my period and they did a sonogram to check on the my uterine lining because I mentioned the spotting. She said it looked like I was due for my period. And then I proceeded to be two weeks late (so no period for 3 weeks after that appointment).

I’m 28 (almost 29), I have a 1 year old (she’ll be 1 this month), and I would like to have more kids, but I know now isn’t the best time financially. How concerned should I be?
