First time taking pills

I had a protected sex with my SO on the week I supposed to have my AF, my friend then advised me to take pills just to make sure.. and it is my first time taking one. I'm 14 days late, and took a PT yesterday, it's negative. Is it because of the pills or can I be pregnant? I've also been stressed and had minimal sleep :(
