When did your child(ren) start taking baths/showers without your help?

What is a reasonable age to expect a child to bath/shower independently?

I put eight because my six-year-old knows how to shower on her own, and wash up, however I think it's unrealistic to assume they can remember every step independently and perform them well. My daughter will still leave conditioner or soap in her hair, or not wash her genitals. I think it's normal to remind them and walk them through the steps however they do not need assistance washing their body, just hair.

Depends on the kid and the parents. I was bathing myself and my 2 year old sister when I was 5 with no help. We were always clean. 
My 3 year is perfectly capable of bathing himself. He won’t unless he’s told specifically what to do. He just wants to play. He can even wash his own hair. No so much with the rinsing. 
I personally think 5 is a good age to start. Let child handle everything and then call in a parent to check to make sure everything has been cleaned and rinsed. I think after a month of child getting it right, is a good time to let them do it completely on their own. If they get sloppy, go back to checking.

My 4 year old washes his body mostly by himself but obviously I stay next to him and remind him of the steps etc. He also needs help with his hair otherwise it would never be cleaned 😆 I think I started showering entirely on my own when I was around 8-9 years old because I struggled to rinse out the shampoo properly. It all depends on the kid tbh

My daughter is a baby, so this is not applicable to me. But I think I was in second or third grade when I regularly showered independently. So like 7-8 years old.

That really depends on the kid. My 6 year old can wash her body but can't wash her hair by herself. I don't think I bathed independently until I was at least 8.

My daughter is 7 1/2 and can do it unassisted but still asks for help every once in a while.
