Don't Tell Someone Who's TTC, "Why don't you Just..."
It's incredibly insensitive, demoralizing, and diminishing. If you're not going through it, you have no idea how difficult and emotional this journey is. Every doctor appointment, every supplement, every procedure, every shot, every medication, every chart, all the lifestyle changes, all the tears, all the arguments with your partner, the good days, the bad days, the insomnia, the worry, the anxiety....I could go on. Nothing about this journey is "JUST" anything. So next time you fix your lips to offer some unsolicited advice, as well intentioned as it may be, think twice. Sometimes JUST being there, listening, supporting, crying, praying, watching a movie, eating good food, laughing or some other "ing" is enough. We get it, you don't know what to say. You know what, that's ok. Because saying the "wrong" thing is way more hurtful, even if you meant well. "JUST" a thought.
