Toddler wakes at night

Laura

Help needed: my 18 month old routinely wakes for 1-2 hours per night (usually between 1:00-4:00am). During this time she is usually content to talk to herself or play in her crib but at times her “talking” (or loud singing) and other shenanigans (like jumping up and down & running back and forth) disrupts my sleep in the adjacent room. She’s safe and usually content so I leave her but this has been happening almost nightly for about 3 months. Suggestions on what to do? Or what could be causing this? Or when she will grow out of it?

For reference: we do bedtime every night at 7:00-7:30pm for the past year. She has been down to 1 nap a day since 13 months old and her naps are 2-3 hours long. She’s always used a sound machine & she has blackout curtains & sleeps alone in her crib in her room. She isn’t a big fan of meat and only eats it once a month or less so I had the pediatrician check her iron levels but they were good so we don’t think low iron is causing this.

Thanks for any help or just a “I’ve been there too”.
