Suspect husband thoughts ladies

So just recently an ex girlfriend from my husbands past has been contacting my husband via FaceTime & what's worse he's been answering some even being as long as 30+ minutes & this isn't the first time with the same person we went through motions he said it won't happen again & here we are now when asked what the convo was about & why he even feels the need to answer his response is "I didn't want to be rude" & "nothing really regular small talk" he acknowledges the fact that he's wrong bt continues to do the same thing it's concerning especially when it keeps happening & he brushes it off really thoughts ladies? Do you think there's more to what he's telling me?
