Period not stopping

Hi! I’m 27 years old, and I’m on a copper IUD, I believe heading into my 4th year with it in, and it lasts up to 5.

I received my period, around the beginning on June and it has not stopped! I’m not talking about little bits here and there, I’m talking full blown, tampon/pad and all…

I’ve made an apt with my dr, but has anyone gone through this? Potentially have any ideas what would cause this? It’s not the first month that it has lasted longer, but it is the first month where it has been non stop and running.
