our kid vs. my stepkids

my stepkids (10, 13 and 16)complain that we're using them as slaves (they each have 1 daily chore like setting the table, unloading the dishwasher, clearing the table,...) (their mom told them that in this house we are the adults and we need to take care of them, so they shouldn't do chores)

our 2yo when the stepkids aren't here:

Loads the dishwasher

Unloads the dishwasher

Loads the laundry

Loads the dryer

sets the table for himself

Clears the table

Cleans up his table and himself

Vacuums the living room.

Puts himself into bed

update:

ohh I know it's normal 😄 I'm not complaining.. I was just on the toilet when our kid was vacuuming and I was just thinking how funny that was.

I don't blame them, forreal I did not do chores when I was a teen 😅 I do think it's a bit toxic for their mom to tell them what they can and cannot do when they're in our care.. it's not like they're all scrubbing floors and working 24/7 to keep our house clean.. they just have 1 chore. totally appropriate in my opinion.
